Waterdeep Session 18

On the Wall

A number of squires appear atop the wall and let the party know that the canon needs repair. Little did the party know that all four of these squires were zombies in disquise. The party is able to quickly dispatch the zombies before they can completely destroy the canon.
From the fog in the distance, a battlehorn sounds and an army marches towards the walls.

The party returns to Jorkin's Tavern where Bonny is bartending. She gives Busvine and Kal a paper bird that came in while the party was out which contains a mission for The Harpers, from Mirt. Remallia haventree is hosting a party at house Ulbrinter. Her husband Arthagast was assassinated some time ago. There are a number of Drow in disguise who are visiting the party and they must be rooted out. He gives them four invites to the party and advises the party that they should dress appropriately and be discreet.
Kal invites Renaer to the party for some extra backup, and Emmaera blurts out to Renaer that he should be her date specifically. Kal immediately throws a roll of towers at Emmaera's head before Renaer suggests that he can take both as he has two arms. Kal and Emmaera compete to dress better for the event and win Renaer's attention.

The party arrives at House Ulbrinter and Kal, Emmaera, and Busvine enter the party while Larys heads to the service entrance towards the outer grounds. Emmaera recognizes Jellen and lord and lady Gralhund
House Ulbrinter. While Emmaera makes her way around the party, she comes upon a group of nobles gathered together. In the center she recognizes Victoro Cassalanter and Ammalia Cassalanter. Each of the two nobles are flanked by a tiefling handler.
House Ulbrinter. In another wing, the servants of all the visiting nobles gather in a party of their own. :Larys notices Grabass, servant to the Gralhunds. Larys asks him if he's noticed anyone new or otherwise odd at the event, but Grabass says he recognizes every single person in the room. Soonafter, a thin, 5' 7" woman in thin leathers, cape, and a mask enters the room and begins throwing gold into the air from their bag. In the ensuing chaos, she disappears deeper into the mansionl. Grabass recognizes her as The Black Viper, and recalls that she's a local legend going back a century, as a thief who likes to rob nobles.
House Ulbrinter. Emmaera orbits around the Cassalanters and notices that the topic of discussion is about the summer's upcoming Founders Day party.
