The Yawning Portal is an inn and tavern in the city of Waterdeep that was renowned for being the primary open route into the Undermountain. It is owned and run by the famous adventurer Durnan the Wanderer.

| Waterdeep Session 15 | #DragonHeist The party visits The Yawning Portal to speak with Renaer Neverember and fill him in on the stone. By this point Emmaera has attuned to the stone. The stone calls to her and tells her that the stone would like to learn more about Renaer. The stone has revealed to Emmaera the the location of The Vault of Dragons, which is Underneath a converted windmill in the sea ward which is the home of Kalain, a famous artist who painted a portrait of Daggult Neverember. The two began a torrid love affair, but when Daggult began to neglect her in favor of his focus on the restoration of the city of Neverwinter. She has since become a recluse. Stone stone also reveals to Emmaera the location of the three keys to the vault. The first key is a "Drunken Elf". The second key is "At least 1,000 GP worth of Gems". The third key is a "Unicorn". The party shares all of this information with Renaer. Emmaera remembers that both Laerel and Vajra could summon a unicorn with the "Summon Celestials" spell. The party realizes that Laerel and Mirt both know the party is looking for the stone, but only Renaer knows where the vault and keys are. The party takes inventory and put together that they have the first key, "1,000 GP worth of Gems" from their prior fight with a trio of dragons. |
| Waterdeep Session 14 | The party briefly visits The Yawning Portal with Bruce. Emmaera chats with Durnan, showing him some boob action and attempts to hit on him which falls completely flat. |
| Waterdeep Session 11 | #DragonHeist The gang begins in The Yawning Portal where everyone is gathered outside of Meloon Wardragon's bedroom door, with the exception of Euthasol who is located downstairs in the bar. After Kal picks the lock on the door, Meloon darts out of bed without them noticing. Downstairs, Euthasol sees Meloon spring to life through the eyes of her familiar Bojangles and takes her time making her way upstairs to warn the party. After Meloon yells a warning to the party, they retreat down the stairs, but not before Meloon kicks Bojangles into a wall, vanquishing him. Enraged at this, Euthasol storms back up the stairs and attempts to break down Meloon's door, but breaks her foot in the process. Larys drags Euthasol back down the stairs kicking and screaming in order to avoid starting a fight in The Yawning Portal. |
